Top Trends in Home Bedroom Design

June 22, 2015

Home bedroom décor trends change with each passing season. As we continue to move forward, design trends seem to look to our past for inspiration. Today’s home décor is no exception as we look at some of the more popular bedroom trends.

Here at Luetgert Development, we want to help you create the home of your dreams. Whether you are remodeling or building a new custom home, you will need to decorate your home with things that inspire you and fit your lifestyle. If you are working with a home builder, check and see if they have an interior designer you can work with to help create your perfect bedroom. If you do not have an interior designer to work with, don’t worry.  You can find plenty of inspiration online and in home magazines to give you some great ideas to incorporate into your bedroom style.

Bedroom Trends to Consider

  • Wallpaper for a dramatic look
  • Metallic gold trim for accent color
  • Serene spa-like colors for relaxation
  • Retreat details for comfort
  • Fresh flowers to soften any look
  • Custom headboards for a one-of-a-kind look

Wallpaper is making a huge comeback featuring large open patterns. What’s even more surprising is we are seeing the patterns on the wallpaper being featured in gold. Textures are being used in everything from flooring to accessories and drapes. Find some accent throw pillows with interesting textures and you are all set!

Gold Accents

One trend that is making a comeback is gold trimmed accents. Yes, it’s true.  Gold trim is back. We are seeing gold trim being used in bedrooms on everything from wall paper to furniture and fixtures. Today’s version of the gold trim is a bit more subdued, incorporating muted spa like colors of taupe, beige, white and light shades of blue and pink.

In today’s busy world, we seem to be looking to create a spa-like retreat for our master bedrooms. Your master bedroom should be a space you feel comfortable in and are able to relax the moment you walk in. We are even finding ways to incorporate small appliances for an ultimate luxury feel like a mini-fridge and an espresso machine.

Love Your Choices

Whatever your style may be, traditional, contemporary or modern, make sure you love the options you choose. It all depends on your preferences, your style and what you think is relaxing. It’s all about you!
