Just thinking about decorating your home can be overwhelming. Have you ever asked yourself any of these questions? Where do I start? What colors should I use? What style do I want to incorporate? The questions can be endless. There are so many different ways to decorate based on your style, home architecture or even your budget. Create a Notebook

Put your ideas into a notebook for future reference or create a Pinterest board.  This will help you remember all the ideas you liked. Keep pictures of items you have already purchased. This will also serve as a future reference for colors when you are out shopping.

Plan a Budget

One of the first things you will need to determine is your budget. While you are considering a budget make sure to give yourself a little wiggle room. Having a cushion in your budget will allow you work with any additional expenses that may arise.  Once you have your budget set you can plan how much you will be spending per room.  You will need to adjust your budget based on what you will be doing for each room.

Make a List of Rooms

Make a list of rooms you will be decorating and include everything you would like to work on for the room. You may decide to replace the floor in one room, but not another room. Or you may want to purchase wood shutters in one room and drapes in another room. Think about what would make you feel happy when you walk into a particular room in your home.  Keep in mind what the room will be used for and what furniture you will need for it.
