Latest Pool Design Trends

There’s no doubt having a beautifully designed pool in your backyard adds beauty to your landscape design. Consider adding mixed media or unique water features to your pool landscape design for a truly distinctive look and feel. The possibilities are endless when you are designing your pool and landscape.

As we look for new and innovative concepts and designs for outdoor entertaining areas, consider these top pool style trends of 2015 for your custom built pool.

Infinity Pool

The infinity pool has a vanishing edge on one end which makes it seem as though the water flows right off the edge. As the edge of your pool and the sunset come together flawlessly, you’ll see a breathtaking view. Infinity pools will also make a smaller space seem larger as it is open ended.

Knife Edge Pool

A knife edge pool is where all surrounding edges are as slim as a knife. When the water meets the edge of this pool, it appears to vanish into thin air. But in reality the water is sliding down into a sliver of a slot at the edge of the pool. This sleek and slim design has a razors sharp edge look and feel.

Baja Ledge Pool

The baja ledge pool has a large step that is wide enough to fit a couple of beach chairs on it while you are in the water. The size can vary depending on your needs and the size of the pool and usually will sit in about half a foot of water so you can sunbathe.

Glass Tiles

Glass tile finishes are a very popular trend this year. This durable finish offers a unique iridescent shine that no other finish can give. Glass tiles work best when featured as a waterline band around the pool or within the pool floor and walls as they can be slippery if used as a walking surface.

Moving Water Feature

Show off your style with a beautiful pool waterfall as nothing enhances a pool more than the site and sound of gently falling water. Talk about relaxing. Make sure you decide if you would like to have a moving water feature installed in your pool before you start building.

There are many options to consider when designing your pool. Work with your contractor to make sure you know all of your options. This will help you make the best decision to suit your lifestyle.
